Connecting to eduroam on mobile devices

Instructions on connecting to eduroam from your iPhone, Android phone, or other mobile device.

What is eduroam?

eduroam (education roaming) is a secure, world-wide roaming access service developed for the international research and education community. Several other CSU's and UC's are already part of the eduroam network for its flexibility, ease of use, and security. Eduroam gives you the ability automatically connect on campus, and at participating eduroam hotspots.

Before You Begin

Please make sure you have the following:

  • Your SacLink username and password (username@csus.edu required for login)
  • Administrator access to your mobile device

iPhone or iPad

  1. Access your wireless device settings and select eduroam.

  2. Enter your SacLink username with the @csus.edu after it and password.
  3. Tap Join.
  4. You will be prompted to download and accept the eduroam certificate. Tap Trust.

  5. If you are prompted to, enter the pass code for your device.
  6. You will be connected to eduroam after you have accepted the network security certificate.

Android

  1. Access your wireless device settings and select eduroam.

  2. Select and enter the following:

    eduroam Android configuration settings

    • EAP method: PEAP
    • Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPV2
    • CA certificate: Do Not Validate
    • Identity: Your SacLink username with the @csus.edu after it (i.e., herky@csus.edu)
    • Password: Your SacLink password
  3. Tap Connect. You will then be connected to eduroam.

If you are experiencing issues connecting to eduroam, we recommend that you use Secure W2 automatic setup.

iOS

  1. Connect to SacLink wireless network. You may be redirected to a wireless setup page.
  2. In your web browser and go to https://cloud.securew2.com/public/75808/eduroam/.
  3. iOS will be automatically detected. Enter your SacLink username, with the @csus.edu after it and password and select JoinNow.

  4. Tap Install when you receive the "Install Profile" and "Warning" prompts.

  5. You should now be connected to eduroam.

Android

  1. Connect to SacLink wireless network. You may be redirected to a wireless setup page.
  2. In your web browser and go to https://cloud.securew2.com/public/75808/eduroam/.
  3. Android will be detected automatically. Download the SecureW2 app from the Google Play Store.
    • You can also download the app directly and follow the onscreen instructions to install it.

  4. After installing the SecureW2, enter your SacLink username, with the @csus.edu after it and password.
  5. Click Continue when you receive the "Remove Network" security warning."

  6. You should now be connected to eduroam.
