Secure browsing using MyCloud

For secure web browsing, Sacramento State uses a whitelist proxy that allows you to access business related sites on your local desktop computer. The whitelist provides a list of allowed websites, while the proxy server retrieves them on behalf of your desktop/laptop or device.

Why is MyCloud necessary for secure web browsing

To have full access to websites and maintain online security, you can use the MyCloud virtual desktop. In MyCloud, you can use web browsers such as Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, or Google Chrome as you normally would. Websites accessed through MyCloud are not blocked and you have full access to the internet.

Note

  • Your favorites and bookmarks in MyCloud are separate from those on your desktop/laptop or device. Once you disconnect from MyCloud, all of your browsing history and saved information will be deleted.
